The cabinet has approved the proposal by Transport and Civil Aviation Minister to call competitive bids for luxury coach services. (2019/10/30)
Sri Lanka Railways plans to extend luxury coach services in the Main line up to Badulla, the Nothern line up to Jaffna, the Eastern and Southern railway lines.
So the bids will be called to operate luxury train coaches on the above 4 selected railway lines for 5 years.
Currently, luxury coaches are only operating in the main line. (Kandy)
