1. The 30-Day Advance Booking Rule
Seat reservations for all express, intercity, and tourist trains open strictly 30 days prior to the travel date at 09:00 AM Sri Lanka Standard Time (UTC+05:30).
For high-demand routes such as Colombo to Kandy/Ella and Colombo to Jaffna, seats frequently sell out within 15 to 30 minutes. Be prepared with your travel details beforehand.
2. Passenger Details Required for Booking
